• Varied dune landscape: Walk past old dunes, damp dune valleys, grasslands, reed beds and shallow pools. Thanks to this variety, the area feels surprisingly diverse.
• Nature area rich in birds: The pools and reed zones attract many birds, such as spoonbills, avocets, shelducks, shovelers, teals, grey herons and waders. There is especially plenty to see during bird migration.

• Bring binoculars: Many birds can already be observed easily from the walking paths. Zwarten Hoek is especially beautiful early in the morning and towards the end of the afternoon, with soft light and lovely reflections in the water.
• Beautiful walking area: From Zwarten Hoek, you can easily continue walking towards other nature areas, such as the Westhoek and the French Dune du Perroquet.
